I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in therapy for children and adolescents in Rhode Island. I provide a supportive, collaborative, and developmentally appropriate space where young people feel safe to explore their emotions, build coping skills, and grow in confidence.
I bring over 13 years of experience as a school counselor, working closely with students, families, and educators to support emotional well-being, academic stress, and social development. This background allows me to understand the school environment and the unique pressures children and teens face both inside and outside the classroom.
In my private practice, I help children and adolescents navigate challenges such as anxiety, mood concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, school-related stress, and life transitions. Therapy is tailored to each client’s age, needs, and strengths. With younger children, sessions may incorporate play-based and creative activities to support emotional expression and coping skills. With adolescents, therapy often focuses on skill-building, insight, and providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk openly about stressors related to school, relationships, identity, and self-esteem.
Parent and caregiver involvement is an important part of the therapeutic process. I collaborate with parents through periodic check-ins or consultation sessions to provide guidance, education, and practical strategies that support progress outside of therapy, while also honoring a child or teen’s need for privacy and trust.
My approach is strengths-based and informed by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and mindfulness-based techniques. I strive to create a calm, welcoming environment where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to build resilience and lasting emotional skills.
